I don't know if it qualifies as a stitching guide, but I would so love to find a video of someone cross stitching using a laying tool. I have read directions over and over again about using the various types, from the regular laying tools to trolley needles, and somehow I still don't quite "get" it! A video would just be wonderful.

I am stitching the white oval doily on page 34 of "The Big Book of Small Doilies by Meier and Watnemo. I am an experienced stitcher with the Edelweiss stitch new to me. I just cannot get it figured out from your directions on page 9 and am unable to find instructions online. Is there a site with better directions?
Thanks! I have completed many of the items in this book as well as your free projects on your website!

I would like to know more about "Redwork"
The orginal color of red floss, the usual material, and what
stitches were used most often, and why!
What would really be nice would be a free pattern with
instructions and history info
Thank You
