I've been a cross stitcher since 1985, and started doing Hardanger within a couple years. I am trying to finish a bunch of UFOs before I start something new……except that I signed up for the Hardanger Card Club. Ooops, but maybe I can get a card finished before it becomes a UFO!!

I've never blogged before, so I hope I am doing the right thing here. Smile

Hello from Ohio!

I learned how to cross stitch in Junior High Home Ec class way too many years ago!  It didn't "take" at that point, but I picked it up again after college – I don't want to admit how many years ago that was, either. Wink  My mother and I took a trip to Norway in the late 1980s, and that's when I started Hardanger.  I bought a book, fabric, and some Perle Cotton in a needlework shop somewhere along the way, and puzzled things out using the pattern & illustrations.  It turned out OK, and I've been doing Hardanger off and on ever since.

I also signed up for the Hardanger Card Club – and the first package arrived today!!  I'm looking forward to stitching the card – it looks like fun!

How exciting!  All you card club members will have to keep us updated with how it goes.

A big welcome to both of you!  Feel free to drop in and say hi and tell us your stitching (or life, or pet ;) stories.  We're all new to the whole "blogging" thing too, haha, so no worries.

I wish there are still home ec classes that taught some of these really useful skills, like sewing, embroidery, etcetera.  Here at Nordic we always love to see young faces along with our old ones (haha).

Again, welcome to the forums!
