I have a recliner and that works well for me. Yes, I get stuck there for hours, but why is that a bad thing? I find that when I am stitching elsewhere, such as at the retreat, I got real backaches from having to lean forward while I am stitching. So I guess I am saying to get a chair that is most like the on you usually sit in.

I would find a chair that you can put your feet up. I have always wanted one of the chairs that looks like a nest. It is wicker and have a big soft pillow in the center.

Hi right now I'm teaching smocking to adults, then as they get better we'll
input them into clothing, sweatshirts whatever, I saw a cool one at guild.
a lady put her sampler of stitches into a purse for the summer. It was awesome. My grandkids make quits since they were three. My grandson
who is 10 made a race car quilt and WWW quilt. My little neighbor
girl needs therapy, I've drawn pictures and she embroders them, they
are real big but she loves it. Pretty much anyone who listens I teach.

I recently bought a new chair so I could sit comfortably at my computer desk. I think it would work well as a stitching chair, too. It has a high back, deep seat (I need this because the short seats can cut off circulation in the legs, which is bad for people who have a tendency toward or history of blood clots), and arms. My living room stitching nest is my sofa, and I have my portable Ott-lite on the back of the sofa. My needlework chart/magnetic board is on one of those decorative-but-otherwise-useless cushions that seem to come with many sofas and loveseats. My needlework stand works with either of these configurations. And then there are the times I sit at my dining room table on a dining room chair to which I've tied one of those cushions to make it more comfortable for long stitching sessions.

Hi I do 1/12th scale dollhouse miniatures and would love a video on needle punching and petipoint in a small scale. There are a lot of us miniaturist out there and I am sure they would enjoy it too. Thanks for asking Carolbinab

I don't know if it qualifies as a stitching guide, but I would so love to find a video of someone cross stitching using a laying tool. I have read directions over and over again about using the various types, from the regular laying tools to trolley needles, and somehow I still don't quite "get" it! A video would just be wonderful.
