- Clean Popsicle sticks
- Ripe bananas (not green, but not brown)
- 1 package (16 ounces) semisweet chocolate chips (will do about 10 bananas)
- 1 Tablespoon butter
- Things to roll the banana in like flaked coconut, nuts, sprinkles, crushed Oreo cookies
- A baking sheet or cake pan that will fit in your freezer
Peel the bananas and cut them in half, (cross wise not lengthwise). Line the baking sheet or pan with wax paper. Insert a Popsicle stick into the cut end of the banana. Place the banana pops on the baking pan and freeze about 2 hours.
When the bananas are frozen, melt together the chocolate chips and butter (using a microwave or your stove). Dip the frozen bananas in the melted chocolate or spoon the chocolate over the bananas to cover them. Quickly roll the banana in the topping(s) of your choice. Put the dipped bananas back into the freezer until the chocolate is firm. Eat immediately or store in a covered container in the freezer.
