  • 1 pound ground beef
  • 1/4 cup chopped onion (I added more)
  • 1/4 cup chopped green bell pepper (optional)

Drain the grease and then add the rest of the ingredients. Mix well. Reduce the heat and simmer for 20-30 minutes, stirring occasionally. Then salt and pepper to taste.

  • 3/4 cup ketchup
  • 1/2 teaspoon garlic powder
  • 1 teaspoon yellow mustard (I added more because I like the tartness)
  • 3 teaspoons brown sugar (If you pack down the brown sugar when you measure it, the sauce will be sweeter. If you don’t like so much sugar, then don’t pack down the brown sugar.)

Serve it on a bun, adding a slice of cheese if desired!
