Taco Salad

Brown one pound ground beef with one chopped up onion and stir in one packet of Taco seasoning. Mix well and let simmer 10 minutes. This should be done ahead of time because it needs to be cold when you mix it with the rest of the ingredients.

  • 2 tomatoes diced
  • 1 can kidney beans (15 – 16 oz), drained
  • 2 cups grated cheese. I used colby/jack but you can use cheddar or mozzarella – your preference
  • add cold ground beef mixture and stir well
  • chop one head iceberg lettuce and mix well

Stir in one 16 oz bottle of Western or French dressing and refrigerate until ready to serve. Right before serving, add crushed Dorito chips. If you anticipate having leftovers, serve the Dorito chips on the side for each person to mix into their own salad. They can use as many or few as they like.
