Only 7 Days Til Christmas!

News No Comments

Where does the time go? Every year I plan on getting my Christmas stitching done by Thanksgiving. As usual, I will be stitching this weekend! UGH! Hope everyone is more prepared than I am. I’ll be on vacation next week, so let me wish you a Merry Christmas. May happy memories mingle with new ones over the holiday season. Stay safe and warm! Hugs, from Debi

Herringbone (for Temari)

Here is a diagram on how to do the herringbone stitch around the divisions.

  1. Bury your thread in the ball and come up at A.
  2. Bring your thread down to the equator at B.
  3. Go under the marking line, picking up a few of the wrapping threads and come up at C.
  4. Come down to the left of the South Pole line, go under the marking line, picking up a few of the wrapping threads and back up to the right of the line.

Continue wrapping per pattern.

You want to make each stitch around the marking line very small. Try to catch a couple of the surface wrapping threads for stability. Lay each stitch down next to the previous one. You do not want to leave space in between the stitches unless your pattern calls for it. Practice keeping your stitches even and lying nicely. If you are not consistent, your design will not work out quite as expected.
